Aquaman #23.1 by Geoff Johns and Tony Bedard – Friday Flash Review [Shadowhawk]

New 52 - Aquaman 23.1

Shadowhawk reviews the first Villain’s Month issue for Geoff Johns’ stellar Aquaman series.

“With a strong first half but a somewhat middling second half, this isn’t as good an issue as I’d hoped, but it still does quite a bit to set up a great story with lots of promise for the Forever Evil event.” ~Shadowhawk, The Founding Fields

Trinity War – A DC Comics Event Review [Shadowhawk/Bane of Kings]

Trinity War 01

Shadowhawk and Bane of Kings take a look at the six-issue crossover event that leads into the current ongoing Forever Evil event.

“Start to finish, this was one hell of a ride, and as the first mega-event in comics that I’ve been able to follow issue by issue, this definitely was something else. Geoff Johns and Jeff Lemire started off great, and they ended great, with ample support from all the artists involved like Ivan Reis, Joe Prado, Mikel Janin and the others who were really on top-form here.” ~Shadowhawk, The Founding Fields

“Worth buying all the issues for rather than just reading the ones from the comics you follow. Top notch stuff.” ~Bane of Kings, The Founding Fields

Comics Round-up 01.07.2013

Immortal Iron Fist Volume 1

Shadowhawk and Bane of Kings welcome you to the first comics round-up for July.

“My first experience with Greg Rucka proves to be a smash hit as he tells a really focused story about the most famous X-Men team member ever. Scott Beatty’s The Last Phantom is flawed but still tells quite a story. Geoff Johns concludes the Throne of Atlantis crossover and instantly launches into an even better series event with King of Atlantis which is full of startling revelations. Scott Snyder’s Batman progresses after the epic Death of the Family crossover with a small-focus 2-parter with a classic Batman villain and then launches into the series event Year Zero which is one of the best stories in the series to date. “~Shadowhawk, The Founding Fields

Astonishing X-Men is a series that all X-fans should read, and The Immortal Iron Fist is another classic. ~Bane of Kings, The Founding Fields
